A little bit about me

A highly experienced employment taxes expert, John has over 25 years of experience working with public sector bodies. He has a deep understanding of all aspects of PAYE, National Insurance and benefits in kind, and is particularly interested in advising clients on off-payroll working (IR35), Local Government Reorganisation and Corporate Criminal Offence legislation compliance.

Education

John spent five years as a PAYE Auditor with the Inland Revenue (as was) before spending the next 15 working in the “Big 4” specialising in advising local authorities, emergency services and other public sector bodies. This included 11 years at PwC where he led the employment taxes side of the PwC/CIPFA Tax Advisory Service.

John has vast experience in employment tax and related areas. His particular areas of interest include advising clients on off-payroll working (IR35), Local Government Reorganisation and Corporate Criminal Offence legislation compliance.

Other interests

In his leisure time, John has a passion for various sports, with football and cricket being his favorites, although these days, he mostly enjoys them from the sidelines as a spectator. He’s a dedicated supporter of Cambridge United and tries to catch their matches whenever possible. Additionally, he enjoys attending live music events, as long as there’s someone to take care of his furry friend.
